Frequently Asked Questions

What winter driving experiences does drive in motion offer?

drive in motion offers three distinct winter driving formats: ice driving on frozen lakes in Lapland (Sweden), Porsche winter training at Katschberg (Austria), and performance driving on wet and snow circuits at the Autódromo do Algarve in Portugal. Each programme has its own character and skill focus.

Is winter driving safe for inexperienced drivers?

Yes. All our winter driving programmes are designed with safety as the primary concern. Professional instructors coach you through every exercise, vehicles are fitted with appropriate winter or studded tyres, and all sessions take place on closed, controlled environments — not public roads.

What skills do I develop in a winter driving programme?

Winter driving training develops vehicle control in low-grip conditions, controlled oversteer and understeer management, emergency braking on ice and snow, throttle steering techniques and an overall understanding of vehicle dynamics that directly improves everyday driving.

Which is the most extreme winter driving experience?

The Lapland ice driving programme is our most extreme format — frozen lake surfaces in Arctic temperatures of -10°C to -25°C, with high-performance vehicles and professional drift coaching. The Katschberg Porsche winter training is more structured and skills-focused in an Alpine environment.

Can winter driving experiences be organised for corporate groups?

Yes. Winter driving programmes — particularly Lapland — are exceptional corporate incentive formats. The combination of Arctic environment, unique vehicles and team experience delivers maximum emotional impact. We organise private group programmes year-round.

When is the winter driving season?

The Lapland ice driving season runs from January to mid-March. Katschberg winter training takes place in January and February. The Algarve wet weather programme is available autumn through spring due to Portugal’s mild climate.

Are winter driving programmes available for couples or individuals?

Yes. Individual and couple bookings are available on our scheduled programme dates. Private bookings for two people are also possible on request. Winter driving is a popular gift and anniversary experience.
